About Me.

My Journey so far.

Hello, hi! I’m Lindsey. I’m a client-centred therapist, also trauma aware and currently furthering this knowledge by studying Psychological Trauma at Chester University. With the shoe on the other foot, I facilitate counselling training at a local college.

The counselling path began as a student around 2011, following volunteering in helping fields, which included advocacy, youth work, and mentoring. A fluke or fate guided me towards training in counselling, where I encountered the glorious and elegant work of Dr. Carl Rogers and the Person-Centred Approach. This marked the beginning of a transformative, bumpy path towards psychological connection with myself. I’m pretty sure until this point, I was like a feather floating on the winds of life, easily influenced without realising it.

I felt without roots, and so susceptible to living reactively, unconsciously re-enacting powerlessness.

Encountering or reconnecting to one's inner world can be a challenging, messy business, but in my opinion, it’s worth it! Particularly in comparison to OCD, depression, anxiety, chaos, unhealthy habits, insomnia, numbness, and lethargy that had manifested, due to my disconnection with myself. Perhaps this is why this profession remains vital to me.

Flourish is eight years old. During this time, myself and this practice have evolved and diversified thanks to training in ecotherapy, supervision, EMDR and now Psychological Trauma.

For context, I identify as female. I am cisgender, and of mixed British and North African heritage.
